Murals

Allow me to totally transform your drab wall into a green oasis! I can create the perfect low maintenance backdrop for the non green thumbs amongst us. If you have a wall screaming out for some love, get in touch to discuss a quote. Price depends on size and detail.

Jungle Mural

The client wanted a drab beige wall in their backyard transformed into a lush jungle scene with ferns, flowers and butterflies. I created this joyful explosion of colour (channeling Henri Rousseau) which brings joy to the client’s everyday life, which is particularly important as they work from home.

The mural was painted in March 2017 in Adelaide.

Mame Coumba Bang

During a six week residency at Waaw artist centre in St Louis in May 2014, Senegal, I painted a mural of the goddess of the river, Mame Coumba Bang. The design of her face is inspired by the patterns painted on the local pirougues (fishing boats). Check out the time-lapse film to the right to see how the mural was made.

Woodthorpe Butchers

Inspired by old photographs of Angove St in the 1930s, the mural represents the Woodthrope butcher’s shop, which used to be on the Angove/Fitzgerald St corner. In my research of the site I discovered an electrical mechanic workshop once lived behind the wall, and a mini golf course ‘Shady Nook’ lived behind the butchers. I’ve also depicted the famous trams that used to run down Angove Street.

The mural was painting before and during the 2012 Angove St Festival.
