FRAGILE STATES
My late twenties brought about a newfound awareness for my mortality, so I decided to explore this through portraiture of friends and acquaintances. I photographed then painted my subjects using the viscous vitality of paint, suspended in all its bleeding, dripping and splattering glory. The viewer can look through the built up layers of fleshy paint, and interpret it as the core emotion inherent in their titles.
The exhibition took place in The Melody Smith Gallery Project Space, May 2013
